2 days rafting the american south fork

South Fork American River, Class III

We'll travel 21 miles on the South Fork American River, Class III - Low-Medium Intensity white water rapids on Saturday & Sunday.

Price includes 2 days rafting, 2 nights camping, 5 meals, a welcoming social mixer Friday night, and 7% river use fees.

$299.60 - Beginner Itinerary

July 9 Join the Lavender Group at the swimming hole for a meet and greet starting at 5 pm. Some light appetizers and drinks will be provided.
July 10 Coffee will be ready by 7:30am, and a hearty breakfast will be served at 8am. You will have time to enjoy Mariah's Nature Trail, play a game of volleyball, and meet new friends before gathering at 9:30am for the River Orientation. We will spend about 3.5 hours on the river rafting the 11 miles of the Gorge section. We will enjoy a lovely picnic lunch at Mariah's lunch site which is located right at one of the rapids. We'll be back at camp by 3:30pm for showers and relaxation. In the evening we enjoy hors d'oeuvres, wine-tasting, a delicious barbeque dinner, and a slide show of us going through the rapids followed by live music entertainment.
July 11 After breakfast we board the Mariah River Bus and head for Chili Bar Dam where the American River begins. We raft the 10 miles of the Chili Bar section, ending up at the Mariah Campground where we enjoy a hearty barbeque lunch. You'll be ready to head for home by 3pm.

Group Camping

Rafters will be camping and having meals with the entire group on the South Fork. We'll also share the campsite with other LGBT organizations from northern and southern California.

Refunds

Refunds require a written cancellation notice 31 days prior to your trip date. If the trip is cancelled due to weather, water conditions or any other good cause beyond our control, your trip will be applied to another trip or an alternative river will be substituted. We encourage you to look into the trip insurance and our full cancellation policy.

Accommodations

Accommodations include private showers, flushing toilets, ping pong table, volleyball court, horse shoes and a camp store.

If you prefer, you may stay close by with more comforts of home. Consider staying near by at Sierra Nevada House in Coloma.

The Best Western in Placerville is also an option that is further away. Meet us each day and around camp for breakfast and dinner,

Rental Equipment

Mariah offers rentals on cabins, tents, cots, sleep kits (sleeping bag and liner) and sleeping pads. To learn more about rentals, please contact Mariah Wilderness Expeditions.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds require a written cancellation notice 31 days prior to your trip date. PayPal service fees will not be refunded.

Trip Insurance

Mariah recommends trip insurance for your bookings. This is due to the 31 day cancellation policy and that unpredictable things do arise.

Release of Liability

By submitting your payment to Lavender Events, you release liability for any incidents that may occur during this weekend.
