One room(left) for rent in lovely Dyke House in San Leandro available now!

— admin @ 3:30 pm

Hello my dear Sapphic Sisters:

Wanted to let any or all of you know that we have one room left to rent in our safe, friendly and lovely home in a nice area of San Leandro. Rent is very reasonable at $650 per month …one of the reasons is that renter will be expected to help owner with the sorting and clearing out of personal items..that would require about three to four hours per week for about two months or so. So please be neat and tidy and have some time on your hands. Please also be employed and no drugs,. alcohol or any illegal substances. The shared utilities are a very fair $50 per month too. No pets. Please be a dyke who appreciates a great value and “plays well with others”. This will be a six month lease that will be renewable! Drop me a note and tell me about yourself . THere is also a lovey garden , private backyard with four fruit trees and roses so if you love nature this would befit you too. The neighbors are ALL lesbian friendly! Not a bad deal. Linda Zeiser, Producer of women’s artistic events in the Bay Area

Help needed this week at Edges - 6/30/08 - 7/5/08

— admin @ 3:15 pm

From Ali:
Phew, we did it! Super hugs to those of you with the strong backs, tireless smiles, and fooood (thank you sustenance goddesses). That was a superb weekend of kinky warriors that really made an awesome effort in taking time to ensure their dungeon Edges and smOdyssey were all moved. We’ve got lots of folks that are now dirty inside AND out. And are actively working to keep that theme going. THANK YOU to each and every person that shared their time with us. This will be a continued effort and we need your help in keeping momentum and energy at a high level: if you cannot come out, encourage someone whom can!
I’ve updated the next weeks calendar for times and day, but do be sure to check or at least call us if there is any doubt. Often we start earlier or end later than expected.

Volunteers and skilled Labor need to help with new Edges Space

— admin @ 2:30 am

Hello,
Edges, the southbay dungeon and play space, is looking for lots of muscle and sweat.
I am going to be helping Ali to coordinate volunteers.
They are doing AMAZING work, but still need LOTS and LOTS of help.
We would like to put together a list of people who are skilled laborers, so that we can contact you when we need your specific help.
So if you are or have access to an electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, mason, drywall, flooring (I am sure I am forgetting some) could you please either e-mail me or post to the group, so I can start a list?
For more specific information and regular updates updates about the new space you can join the yahoo group at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/edges_building/
ALI”S NEEDS FOR THE WEEKEND:
Lunch planned for Saturday, tons of demolition and building, and lots of dirty dirty stuff to get into!
Any fresh 2×4 lumbar and sheet rock being donated needs to be there by Saturday or else we’ll be purchasing it Sunday morning!
STARTING: (Friday, June 27, 2008 - Noon until ?)
** We’ll be receiving the lift around Noon and will have it for several days to get the heights cleared including removing any remaining PVC piping, air filtration ducts, and a portion of the lighting. We will also be replacing the insulation so bring a long sleeved shirt and serious gloves.
** We are in need of square headed shovels and heavy duty thick putty knives for scraping flooring. We’ve got some tiles to pull up in the front rooms.
** We are in need of standard sized drop ceiling tiles/panels (as many as you’ve got) to replace those of ours that are broken! Are you comfortable on a step ladder?
** We have patch kits and spackle and are in need of a detail attentive person that is familiar with filling over dry wall holes!
** We’ve still got some studs attached above that need to be taken out!
** I really need someone that has a filtration mask to help dry vac up the excess glass dust in the shed out back.
** Do you have a truck? We are in need of someone to load up all the packed up rubbermaid bins and bring them over to the new space.

Summer Camp July 11-14, Sebastopol. Save $30 if register by July 1

— admin @ 11:45 pm

Summer Camp is getting exciting with a woman from London attending, many local and some from out of town interested, and Betsy Kalin returning, the L. A. filmmaker of Hearts Cracked Open. Please pre-register, due next Tuesday and save $30. We think you’ll find this a deeply fulfilling and joyous four days. Love, Evalena
Here’s some quotes from last year. “What I sweet time I had. I’m glad that it was more than just Sat/Sun — time to unfold was luxurious and really helped me drop in” “Take time out of regular life. Immerse yourself in this nurturing community.” “An excellent experience to come into my body and open again to my sexuality” “Comfortable, welcoming, flowing, encompassing, and embracing container.” “I loved schmoozing into the night with no pressure of tomorrow, being totally cared for and nurtured, doing practices in a leisurely way. Give yourself this!” SUMMER CAMP!

A Joyous Retreat at LoveJourney’s beautiful Temple

Our Saturday offering is the latest evolution of sacred touch practices, and our Puja is delightful and deeply fulfilling. Enjoy the beautiful gardens and meditation nooks as you rest, play, connect. For maximum pleasure, stay here camping or sleep on the Great Room floor (no cost).
Come early Friday to begin enjoying paradise with your Tantra sisters, absorbing beauty from these delightful gardens and enjoying the deep connections we’ve made. You are invited to bring your bodywork table and offer Tantric or therapeutic bodywork to your sisters, or enjoy receiving work that enhances your capacity for pleasure. NOTE: Last year, we priced each half day or evening which proved too costly in time and resources. Now, we reduced the price instead. Either pay for the whole weekend (wise choice), or pay a one day price and choose times you’ll attend, up to 24 hours. For the second option, you must inform us you’ll be here at least 48 hours before a meal to have food available to you. No further breakdowns in price are available. Reduce thru work exchange, scholarships or payment plans.
Camping in your tent and floor sleeping free. Indoor beds $20/night. Private room: $65/night, $90 for two. Our tents: $45 or $35/night depending on size. PLEASE PRE-REGISTER — it honors us and supports ease of preparation!

Questions? Call 707/ 824-1117 or Email: lucy@tantraforwomen.com.
FRIENDS & LOVED ONES NEW TO TANTRA must attend an introductory session (one Thursday evening, July 10) or private session. This increases safety and comfort for all. Contact Evalena to discuss anyone you want to bring from outside LoveJourney or the larger Tantric community.
SCHEDULE:
Thursday: We’d love your presence for the women-only Introductory session from 7-10. Help welcome new women to the community and the event. They gain safety and benefit more from our circle by learning the breath and boundaries.
Friday: Grounds open at noon, come play, rest, recuperate, set up camping, hot tub, schmooze. Bodywork and healings may be exchanged in the afternoon, with dinner at 6, and the official opening circle at 7:30.
Saturday will include fulfilling energetic connections, maha mudra (making love to the universe), some advanced explorations of erotic practices and finding our “yes” to pleasure. We’ll have free hours to enjoy the fabulous grounds and the amazing women who come. Saturday evening is a delicious Puja with room after to stay and snuggle, run energy, play into the night.
Sunday allows time to sleep in, hot tub, commune with nature and each other. We’ll sing, do heart centered ceremony, deepen our connections, and enjoy heart shares about Tantra and our lives. Enjoy our unsurpassed community barbecue that evening. Bring your props and costumes for our crazy and delightful Talent Show and stay into the evening for frivolity and fun. Great singing, dancing, talent, and raucous skits.
Stay and enjoy this sanctuary through Monday (sweet nectar of afterglow). The closing ritual is 7-9PM. For me, the best part of Summer Camp is the day and evenings after the weekend as we reap the benefits of having dropped so deep into the One Heart! Last year, the most common comment was “I wish I’d stayed the whole time.” Time to dance, go deeper, enjoy sanctuary.
Weekend Meals will be catered with breakfasts and other meals either BBQ or prepared communally from food provided. As usual to keep costs lower than workshop weekends, we ask that you give a couple hours toward food service and grounds clean up at the end. A sincere request, not a requirement.
