I wanted to thank those of you that provided feedback as we transitioned 3000 of you from Yahoo to our local servers. Your feedback has lead to new services on our websites included:

1. An email archive of all Sappho postings on the Lavender lists:
a. View www.lavenderevents.com/sappho/ b. You are able to search posting archive c. You can comment on postings announcements d. RSS feed is available for the more technically incline women.

2. Women’s dinner will resume starting 8/14 : www.lavenderevents.com/special

3. We are offering free banners to non-profits to advertise large scale events.

4. We also created an entire page to assist you with managing your subscription at: www.lavenderevents.com/women/SouthBay-Sappho.shtml

5. Our spam has reduce from sometimes 20 messages a day to only a few a month.

6. We are looking to expand our team to assist with online marketing and community outreach.

7. LGBT headlines are on our home page at www.lavenderevents.com/

8. Our recent addition of LGBT business has grown to almost 100 services. www.lavenderevents.com/directory/

9. Our original personals, www.lavenderevents.com has reached over 2000 members.

Our event calendar and visibility of the Bay Area continues to grow including over 90 people a day visiting our site.

We are considering horoscopes for lesbians. Is this something you would visit our site for daily? If there is enough interest, we’ll be adding that soon too.

My roommate and I have a room available starting August 1 in a spacious Richmond flat with on-site laundry, parking, close to public transportation, and other amenities.   The room is 10 ft x 12 ft with a large closet, ample light, quite, and cable accessible. Rent for this room is $800/month with a $750 security deposit.   This is a no pet building and smoking is outside only. Roommates share utilities such as: High Speed Internet: $45/3 = $15; Comcast Cable: $64/3 = $21.33; and PG&E: varies for each season but runs $60 - $180/3 = $20 - $60. (Costs are estimates and subject to change upon vendor, occasional sales, and seasons.)   Photos are available upon request. Aug 20, 2008 – Womens Power with Max Dashu
PWG is hosting a DVD screening of Women s Power and a fundraiser for the Suppressed Histories Archives. Womens Power is an eye-opening documentary about women whose role in history has been either minimized or deleted from standard history books. Since 1970, Max Dashu has researched and photographed images of women in all walks of life such as chiefs, priestesses, medicine women, architects, doctors, warriors, and scientists. She has created and shown this slideshow presentation, which has evolved through out the years, to groups, community centers and Universities. DVD will be available for sale. Tickets: $5-$15, (proceeds go to Suppressed Histories Archives) No one turned away for lack of funds.
Aug 27, 2008 - Sisters in Business
Rub a dub dub three maids in a tub. Who do you think we see. The butcher, the baker, and the candle stick maker. And they all came out to PWG.
Women today have many careers that span the alphabet from Architects to Zoologist. PWG would like to showcase 10 lesbian owned businesses or lesbians in business. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for women to meet other women and participate in small and large group discussions about topics of interest to our community. The volunteer steering committee members lead informal group discussions, arrange speakers and workshops, and organize game nights, potlucks, holiday parties, and more.
