Women’s Beginner Kayaking Trip - Saturday 8/2

— admin @ 7:45 pm

Did you miss the rafting trip? It was a total SPLASH! Still want to get OUTdoors and play with women in the water?? Here’s your chance!
http://www.lavenderevents.com/special/2008_08_02_kayak.shtml
For the first time we are offering a unique trip to Cannery Row in the Monterey Bay. Visit our website for full details and register soon.
WOMEN’S KAYAKING Saturday, August 2nd Cannery Row Views from the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary
Lavender Events is excited to announce a new kayak adventure to add to our outdoor adventure series exploring Cannery Row from the Monterey Bay National National Marine Sanctuary. This Sanctuary encompasses 5322 square miles of ocean and supports one of the planet’s most biologically diverse ecosystems.
From Cannery Row we’ll enter our scenic marine sanctuary. As we float above the flourishing kelp beds we’ll search for marine mammals such as sea otters, harbor seals and sea lions. The protected and historical cove that lines Cannery Row is an ideal site for those new to the sport of kayaking and who are comfortable being in ocean swell and/or chop (think seasickness).
We will stop for lunch and be back on shore by 2:30pm.

from Top to Bottom, Exiles new member orientation - Oakland 8/3

— admin @ 7:15 pm

BDSM SAFETY: FROM TOP TO BOTTOM THE EXILES NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION - Oakland Event
Sunday August 3, 2008, 2-4pm The Marxist Library, 6501 Telegraph Ave, Oakland
The ground floor, where we almost always meet, is wheelchair accessible. Once we had to meet upstairs, and there is no elevator.
If ASL interpretation is needed, please notify orientationofficer@theexiles.org at least one week before the event.
Want to know more about kinky sex? Interested in experimenting with BDSM and need some basic safety tips? Come to The Exiles’ New Member Orientation on Sunday, August 3.
The Exiles is the SF Bay Area’s premier women’s BDSM organization. We are open to all who are 18+, who don’t id as male, and who have an interest in risk-aware BDSM between women. Attending the Orientation is a requirement for Exiles Membership.
Our main focus is education and safety, so if you just want some good information and aren’t interested in joining The Exiles, that’s okay. In the Orientation, we’ll cover the basics of several different kinds of BDSM play. While this by no means will make you a BDSM expert, we want to emphasize that keeping you safe - and keeping those you play with safe - is an important goal of The Exiles.
We start on time and do not admit latecomers, so please plan accordingly. The orientation costs $10.00 to help with the rental cost for the room (no one turned away for lack of funds). In exchange, we’ll give you a free pass to an Exiles monthly program. To make things faster and easier on everyone, bring small bills if you can. You must bring a legal picture ID with you, for age verification.
You don’t have to be a member to attend our monthly educational program meetings, held every 3rd Friday at The Women’s Bldg in SF. Come to learn, cruise and have fun. To find out more about our organization, our BDSM Safety: from Top to Bottom workshop, and to get the scoop on our upcoming programs, please visit our website: www.theexiles.org
