Coming attractions: November 12, Afia Walking Tree presents a joyous, fun-filled & interactive evening of Drumming, Singing & Movement. Afia Walking Tree, M.Ed, PhD is a world-class percussionist, cultural ambassador, spiritual activist, empowerment facilitator, leadership development advocate and trainer. Admission: $15, also a basket will be passed to raise money to support the education of the children in Guinea, West Africa. For more info on Afia visit www.spiritdrumz.org. Lastly, I would like to thank all the women that emailed me with venue possibilities. We are currently looking at our options. Change can be difficult but it is also a great opportunity to move forward. Since the volunteer steering committee can only do so much we invite the women of PWG to plan an event that will enhance our lives. The possibilities are endless. You and/or your friends could get together to plan a weekend picnic or evening event (local play, movie or visit a local attraction). Tell us your plan and if it fits the Peninsula Women’s Group mission we will assist to make the event a success. Be apart of shaping PWG for the future. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for women to meet other women and participate in small and large group discussions about topics of interest to our community. We also sponsor workshops, educational meetings, potlucks, and just plain fun! The volunteer steering committee members lead informal group discussions, arrange speakers and workshops, and organize game nights, potlucks, holiday parties, and more.
