Folks– A bunch of web geeks, activists, and LGBT/queer folk are organizing a worthwhile project you may want to attend in early January.
Equality Camp, (equalitycamp.com) is a Bar-Camp style one day meet up to discuss and organize around marriage equality after the failure to defeat of proposition 8. (See more on the bar camp model here.. http://barcamp.org/EqualityCamp).
If you’re interested in this issue, this would be a very useful meeting to attend and a way to work on it–I will be there, and would love to see you there.

I am a lesbian in my 60s with multiple disabilities and aspirations. I need an assistant who is fragrance-free (this means no scents on any laundry products or anything you put on your hair or body), reliable, honest, compassionate, well-organized and flexible. Must have reliable insured vehicle (not too challenging to get in and out of) and be able to follow written and oral directions. If you use dryer sheets or some other product with a scent which you cannot give up, or have difficulty following directions in English please do not apply for the position.
Primary task is cooking organic vegetarian (nearly vegan) meals - along with meal prep, and clean up. I really want someone who knows her way around a kitchen. Other tasks include shopping, cleaning (I will provide non-toxic products) organizational help, rides to appointments, etc. If you have organic gardening experience and Mac computer savvy I can offer more hours, but these are not requirements.
I request your help in bringing more order and beauty into my life so I can more effectively manage tasks of daily living and pursue my political and creative endeavors. This is a job which is different every day. You will learn about disabilities and know that your work is greatly valued and directly helping another lesbian..
Hours are flexible and range from 10-20 a week, depending on the skills you bring, and how our schedules mesh. I need someone on Fridays, from late morning to early evening. No live in. Pay, determined by the county, is $12.45/hr gross. I pay you the net ($11.31/hr.) each day you work, after trial period.. Raises possible. Health care and other benefits available. Job cannot be “under the table”, you must have SSN.
This is a great job for the right person, who I hope will read this and rather than send a resume, write me an email stating your suitability and skills for the position. Please include your phone number and good times to reach you. Peace, Barbara mirroriam@verizon.net
