Can you remember your elementary school class marching down to the auditorium to watch John Glenn blast off for the first orbit around the Earth? Maybe it was the King speech at the `63 March on Washington or possibly JFK’s funeral when your family gathered around their tiny TV. But if you are of a certain age, you remember that the entire Nation paused for these historic events. There is something about being in community with other like minded people as you witness a life altering, once in a lifetime historical event that heightens the moment.
Join your community at Marin AIDS Project as we witness and celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama on January 20, 2009 at 8:30 AM. We will serve breakfast at our location at 910 Irwin Street in San Rafael and project the inauguration upon our wall. It will be a moment in time remembered forever. RSVP to Andy at 415-457-2487×102.

Who: You, your dog, good company. There’ve been 7-12 people each time lately. Come join the gang!
Where: Bernal Hill, upper bulletin board/ drinking fountain, San Francisco
When: this Saturday January 17th at noon (and every Saturday, now)
Why: Make your dog happy, meet new people in a low-key setting, start off the new year right! There are usually several new women and dogs each time.
There are maps to Bernal Hill in the photos section of our Yahoo Groups website, “Sappho_Dog_Moms”– and a signup, too, for alerts about future dog walks.
Getting this announcement too late? It was posted on Thursday, but may have taken a while to approve. Put us on your calendar for next week– it’s a regular thing, every Saturday at high noon, now!
=================================== Also, if you’re interested in walks at the PRESIDIO, you can contact Amy, who has kindly offered to organize one if there is interest:
amydonovan@alum.wellesley.edu
She says “It’s a nice place to come, especially because there is a golf club here with a parking lot and a patio where dogs are welcome, so this is great for people who want lunch afterward.” If you live on the north side of the city and find that Bernal is too far across town (or if you want to check out something new), check it out!
