Hello everyone,
Hope your New Year is off to a great start! Tara and I wanted to do something to help Richmond Jane Doe, so we’ve made some changes to our Dance for Equality event on January 31st. It will now benefit both Richmond Jane Doe and the lawsuit to overturn Prop. 8. All our profits will be split between these two causes, and we will have a silent auction, too!
We hope you will join us for an evening of dancing and socializing with friends old and new. (We’ll have singles stickers for all you single folks!) Please buy your tickets as soon as you can; we need to have counts for the food and seating. Thanks!
Oh, and feel free to take this top note off and send the bottom part around or post it wherever you think interested folks might see it. Take care, wen and Tara www.walshchiro.net www.flickr.com/wenandtara Dance for Equality A same-sex community party Saturday, January 31, 2009 Just Dance Ballroom, Oakland, CA 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM $15 per person, advanced sale; $18 at the door (if available) Our profits will be donated to help overturn Prop. 8, which took away fundamental rights from gay and lesbian Californians, and to help Richmond Jane Doe. Come out and join us for an evening with friends old and new as we dance, socialize and have a gay old time together. There will be plenty to do–enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, beer or wine (cash bar), complimentary coffee & tea, chat at one of the cute cafe tables or strut your stuff. For those who want to learn partner dancing, we’ll have an absolute beginner lesson and one for intermediate dancers. We will have a silent auction, too! (To donate, just e-mail me.) The music will be appropriate for general “club/bar” dancing, partner dancing and listening as you tap your toes from the comfort of your seat. (There are a lot of songs that work for all three, believe it or not!) No need to be Ginger or Fred to join us.
