FREE Admission to Monterey Bay Aquarium for LOCALS this FRIDAY 2/20
The Monterey Bay Aquarium celebrates its 25th anniversary year in 2009 with a special gift for Monterey County residents: Free admission on the 20th of each month from January through October.
The free admission days at the world-renowned aquarium, which opened its doors on October 20, 1984, will be in addition to the annual nine-day community open house offered to county residents each December.
Monterey County residents will be admitted free on the following days in 2009: Tuesday, January 20; Friday, February 20; Friday, March 20; Monday, April 20; Wednesday, May 20; Saturday, June 20; Monday, July 20; Thursday, August 20; Sunday, September 20; and Tuesday, October 20 - the aquarium’s actual 25th anniversary. For the anniversary free days and community open house, free admission is for Monterey County residents as a thank-you to the community for their support of the aquarium. Up to three children will be admitted free with each adult resident. To receive free admission, Monterey County residents must present valid identification and proof of residence at the main entrance. Free admission is good only during regular aquarium hours, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day).
Guests from outside Monterey County - including relatives or friends of local residents - can accompany local residents, but they will be charged regular admission fees.
For more information about the community open house and free admission days, call the aquarium at (831) 648-4800.
