Women’s Financial Workshop/Champagne Brunch (4/25 S.J.)

— admin @ 9:30 pm

You’re Invited! Champagne Brunch & Women’s Financial Empowerment Workshop.
Saturday, April 25th, 9:15am to 1:15pm. San Jose, CA
This is a FREE workshop designed to educate you about how money works! My partner and I have been hosting this workshop for a couple of years as a way to help women understand money concepts.
What some of our past attendees have said! Lot’s of great information. K.S., Thank you for the very informative presentation, will recommend to other women. K.R., Good workshop. Easy to understand. Would like to send clients in the future to these and other workshops to educate.. D. K., Great workshop. I will recommend highly to others. E.H., Good workshop-helpful and focused on women. L. M.
Wouldn’t it be nice to learn how money really works? More importantly, would you like to learn how to make some of your hard-earned money work for you instead of you always having to work for it? Would you like to learn about financial independence and about how to meet your financial goals? WFG is committed to helping women prepare, financially, for their future. If you need to develop a financial strategy, if changes in your life have taken you off your financial course, or if you just need to review your current financial conditions, this is a workshop you don’t want to miss.
All attendees receive a financial workbook. This event is well attended please RSVP to hold a seat.

Call for Performances! Historic SFSU 6th Annual Human Rights Summit

— admin @ 4:00 pm

Please post.  Thanks!   Nancy   The 6th Annual San Francisco State University Human Rights Summit performance committee is looking for all types of performances for their 2009 summit on health equity: DYING FOR HEALTH–TEN CCs OF EQUITY.   A fundamental component of all past summits has been the acclamation and celebration of alternative channels of knowledge and activism, such as play and poetry readings, film screenings, multimedia exhibits, and dance, music, and spoken word performances.  Panel topics include universal healthcare, war, racism, drugs as commodities, holistic health, disabilities, youth/poverty/class, mapping environmental hazards, and American Indian Rematriation.  Performances should be linked to summit topic.   For consideration, please email your performance type, topic link, date and time availability, and if you have them any pertinent links showcasing prior performances and performer/group information to smileystudent@gmail.com as soon as possible.
6th Annual SFSU Human Rights Summit – 2009
April 22, 23 & 24 – Dance, Theater, Music & Panels, César Chávez Student Center
Anthropology and Human Rights students, Students for Critical Anthropology, and the Right to Know Project at San Francisco State University are proud to announce the 6th Annual SFSU Human Rights Summit, dedicated in 2009 to Health Equity. We invite you to join local artists, activists, filmmakers, and human rights scholars for an infusion of multimedia performances, inspired by our commitment to art, social justice, and the creation of a healthy planet for all. Now an historic event at SFSU, our Human Rights Summit has campaigned vigorously for the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, ethnic minorities, women, children and LGBTQ communities at local, national, and international levels. In January 2009, Anthropology Professor Mariana Ferreira received the San Francisco Bay Area Jefferson Award for organizing the annual event. Papers, poems, and photos of past summits are published in Human Rights in Global Light . This special issue of the Treganza Museum Papers (2007-2008) can be found at http://humanrights.sfsu.edu . Check out the website for more information! We hope to see you at our HR Book & Bake Sale (March 9 – 13 on the Quad), the HR Film Festival (for submissions see http://hrsfilmfest.tumblr.com ), and the HR Award Ceremony (date & location TBA).
