— admin @ 8:30 pm

Hi, I’d like to post this housing ad to the list-serv. I’m sorry to say that I don’t know the correct format, and hope you’ll give me a hand! I’m sending you the text of the ad and the craigslist link as well. It would be great to have another lesbian living here, and would love to share this great space with someone from the list-serv.
Thanks in advance for your time and assistance,
Victoria
ps. the reply email for this ad is: edieirons@inthefire.com thanks!

*We’re two late-twenties professionals (a straight guy and a queer woman) looking for third housemate for our gorgeous Rockridge/Temescal house. *
Seriously, it’s amazing. There’s a living room and dining room (both huge), all hardwood floors, lots of sunlight, a nice shared backyard with great neighbors, bike/storage shed, new gas range and stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer, central heating. It’s a classy, old-fashioned bungalow with push-button light switches and built-in details.
The available room is 10.5 x 12.5 ft, carpeted, unfurnished, adjoins kitchen and bathroom, has a closet.
It’s three blocks from the Safeway and Big Longs at 51st and Broadway, a short walk to Rockridge/College Ave, Piedmont Ave, Temescal/Telegraph Ave., Temescal Pool, farmer’s market on Sundays, etc. Less than a mile to both Rockridge and Macarthur BART. #51 Bus is a block away and goes to UC campus, downtown Berkeley, and downtown Oakland.
Rent is $750, utilities not included. No cable TV, yes Netflix, yes wireless internet, no pets. The lease is month-to-month. We’ll need a security deposit, credit check, and for you to fill out an application and be approved by the landlord. Move in May 1.
Dan makes websites and occasionally acts and sings. He has a sewing machine and a fondness for things Yiddish and Scandinavian. Edie works at an education policy nonprofit 9-5 and is involved in local political organizing on the side. She is learning to repair bicycles and is into square dancing and slow food. We’re both busy and out a lot in the evenings, but we are happy to see each other when we’re home. We eat meat, cook a fair amount, and share some groceries (mostly staples). We aren’t heavy drinkers, and we don’t do drugs.
We’re looking for someone fun, mature, easy-going, neat, and considerate. We keep a pretty clean house - no clutter in common spaces, no dishes left in the sink, no nastiness in the bathroom, etc. So we’re looking for someone who will keep that going.
If you’re interested, shoot us an email!

Why attend this workshop/Women’s Financial Workshop 4/25 SJ

Do you remember when you learned to swim? How did you feel? Empowered, successful, independent, confident, and ready to move to the next step; learn to dive?

If you jump into a pool and do not know how to swim, you will sink to the bottom. If you jump into a pool, and have learned to swim, you will get to the other end. Learning about money is the same thing.

Are you filled with anxiety about money? Are you stuck in a relationship because of money? Do you ignore it? Are you intimidated by it? Are you confused by it? I ran a successful household for my family, loved being a mom, had the successful corporate career, played golf, entertained, traveled, and left the investment decisions to my ex-husband.sound familiar?

I decided to learn about money and within approximately 3 months said, “this is the best thing I have ever done for myself!” I then committed to a 3 year business plan and here I am 14 years building partnerships that bring value to my life, self-sufficient with the wealth to take care of my loved ones, to live prosperously into old age and to give generously to others.
