The Mighty Slim Pickins are a San Francisco based self-proclaimed “what-the-f*ck-abilly” band. Blending vintage country, rockabilly and punk, this all-female all-queer outfit is a little bit heartache, a little bit hardcore and a whole lotta camp. With a healthy dose of power chords and a dash of musical theater, they put on a heart-pounding, knee-slapping show and they always look fantastic!

Russian River Women’s Weekend Motorcycle Run 10am Meet & Greet with a full tank of gas @ Bank of America ATM parking lot. Dykes on Bikes is expected to participate this year. Route: Guerneville to Occidental via Bohemian Hwy then out to Valley Ford, & Hwy1 north to Bodega Bay for lunch. After lunch, PCH and east on 116 into Guerneville. About 50 miles total. Lots on twisties and then sweepers on the coast.

Wet Tease Pool Party at the Russian River Resort  DJ Olga T will be spinning a poolside mix of Soulful, Jazzy, Classic, Gospel and Latin House Music, 80’s Modern Rock West African music, Jazz, Dancehall, Reggae, R&B, and Motown. Judy Grahn Reads from Her New Works Noon, at River Reader 16355 Main Street. ~ No Cover. Judy will read from her collection of poems new and classic, from 1965-present, love belongs to those who do the feeling.. Red Hen Press has designed a beautiful book, with a cover painting, “Snake and bird singing to the stars,” by Irene Vincent.  And The Judy Grahn Reader, a collection including prose, fiction, and poetry.

ChoQosh Auh’Ho’Oh- Ancient Tools for the Transformation and the Wisdom of the Elders 4pm at Dawn Ranch Boathouse $5-10 suggested donation. ChoQosh will share her spiritual wisdom and some of the stories of the Native American people.  ChoQosh will present the Woman’s Blanket of Hope prophesy and the importance of Woman at this time as woven into its sacred story. And Tsalagi: Dance of Life, a slow motion moving prayer reveals the secret to successful relationships, honors the four directions and the sacredness of all humanity. Hold the earth in your arms.
Antoinette Adwoa Kudoto- Traditional West African songs and Drumming Rhythms 6pm at Dawn Ranch Boathouse $5-10 suggested donation. Kudoto along with her drumming ensemble will perform in the meadow at Dawn Ranch Lodge. Kudoto will also lead a drumming workshop on Sunday.

Coyote Grace at Dawn Ranch 7:30 pm at Dawn Ranch. ~ $10 Cover. If you want a lesson in organic chemistry, take notes and watch the sparks fly between the acoustic downhome duo known as COYOTE GRACE.  This old-timey salt & pepper shaker pair is comprised of Joe Stevens, a transman singer/songwriter from Northern California, backed up by Ingrid Elizabeth on vocals and upright bass, a sassy femme originally hailing from the hills of Southeastern Ohio.

Jennie McNulty & Simone Campbell at Russian River Women’s Weekend  Comedy Night 9p.m. at River Space (the old FAB building) 16135 Main Street, Guerneville ~ $10 cover. Jennie McNulty has traveled the world doing comedy.  Literally.  In addition to headlining in comedy clubs all over the US and Canada, she has entertained the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  She’s also done comedy in more peaceful settings as one of the favorites of Olivia Cruises and Resorts.  Jennie spends her summers doing her show nightly in Provincetown.  In 2006, her show at The Dinah Shore event was a smash hit as was her appearance in the 2007 Toronto Gay and Lesbian Comedy Festival.  And for the last several years she’s been a regular act at Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas. Jennie can currently be seen on the LOGO TV special “One Night Stand Up.” Jennie also plays women’s professional tackle football for the California Quake and she was featured as a physical trainer on the hit NBC Show “Starting Over.”  Opening for Jennie is East Bay comic Simone Campbell- an ex-NJ/NYC homegirl who trusts her East Coast sensibilities but loves her some West Coast vibe.
