Join “Dykes on Hikes,” for an after-work Tilden Park hike this Tuesday, May 19 (Malcolm X Day). We’ll be meeting at Rose/MLK in Berkeley (gathering between 6 & 6:15pm, leaving promptly by 6:15) & then going to Tilden Park from there.  We’ll probably be hiking Seaview, Quarry & Big Springs Trails (Parking at the Quarry Picnic Area on Wildcat Canyon Road – just a little ways down from Inspiration Point).   See http://www.ebparks.org/files/EBRPD_files/brochure/tilden_north.pdf We’ll hike 2-3.5 miles total (distance depending on preference of who’s there) To make finding each other easier, and to facilitating carpooling, we’re going to meet at the corner of Rose and Martin Luther King, by the benches outside of Fatapple’s on Rose Street (which also happens to be right by the Rose Street House of Music House Concerts).  It’s right on the 79 bus line, just a couple blocks from a lot of other bus lines, and 1 mile from both the North Berkeley and Berkeley BART stations.   If you prefer, you can meet us at the Quarry trailhead between 6:15 & 6:30pm.To get to the trailhead: From Berkeley and Oakland, make your way to the Brazilian Building in Tilden Park. From here take Wildcat Canyon Road for about a mile in the direction of Inspiration Point. Park at the Quarry Picnic Area on the right.From Orinda, take Camino Pablo north to Wildcat Canyon Road.
