Intro. to Modern Buddhism

Introduction to Modern Buddhism
Time: June 8, 2009 @ 7:00-8:30 pm
Soul Support brings back one of our most popular programs, Soka Gakkai International: The Buddhist Association for Peace, Culture & Education. Our LGBT Buddhist friends (SGI) will introduce the basic teachings and practice of Nichiren Buddhism. SGI maintains we all possess the capacity to discover our innate Buddahood. We can dispel delusion about the limits of our happiness, and discover our inherent strength, wisdom and compassion. Through studying Buddhist philosophy and taking action daily for the well-being of others, we can establish a state of absolute happiness in which we make each moment of our lives joyful and meaningful. In the process, we become instruments for peace in our families, community, and the world.
Location: Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center, 938 The Alameda, San Jose
Cost: Soul Support is a volunteer driven, free service to the community. However, donations are gladly accepted in support the Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center.
For further inquiries, and to RSVP, please contact program coordinator, Jnana Otto at jolynnotto@yahoo.com
