This Sunday join us for Lisa Dewey & the Lotus Life! Lisa, San Jose’s pinup-girl gothling, along with her excellent backing band The Lotus Life, recalls early Everything But The Girl, with her part folk, part-jazz, all-gorgeous pop.
In 2008 Lisa was one of two selected artists to exclusively perform at The L Word Season 5 Premiere and Official Cast Party in Hollywood that benefited HRC.
In 2009 Lisa worked in the studio with the legendary drummer Budgie from Siouxsie & The Banshees and The Creatures. She recently performed at this year’s San Jose Pride as well.

Exiles Novice Night this Friday 7/17! (SF)

— admin @ 11:45 am

Be sure to see the new NEWS below!**
Friday, July 17, Exiles Monthly Program: Novice Night! Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Program: 8:00-10:00 p.m. The Women’s Building, 3543 18th Street at Valencia, SF
For our July program, it’s all about YOU…novices…those new to BDSM and the BDSM community. This is your night! Come prepared for lots of information and lots of fun! To begin with, you will hear from a panel of experienced members of the leather community:Tops, Mistresses, Masters, Dommes/Doms, submissives, bottoms, bois/boys, and girls. The second part of the evening is hands-on experience! We will set up stations with lots of skilled leather folks to show you the ropes…or floggers…or paddles. You might also try restraints, canes, clips and clamps, blindfolds, hoods, and perhaps some piercing needles. And, of course, you can just watch the action. **New NEWS! After the program, join the Exiles at the SF Citadel! We’ve made arrangements for those who attend the program to receive a coupon for $5 off entry to the Citadel as well as a waiver of the membership fee for this evening. So join us! General information about our programs is below. Please also visit www.theexiles.org to learn more.
Program Meeting Info
♥ Programs are on the third Friday of the month at the Women’s Building in San Francisco (3543 - 18th Street at Valencia) ♥ All women (and those whose gender self-identity is other than male) who are over 18 are welcome. ♥ We have sign language interpreters at all of our meetings. ♥ Door fees are $4 for members and $10 for non-members. Please have your membership card or ID ready to speed entry. ♥ The program runs from 8:00 - 10:00pm and the doors open at 7:30pm. ♥ Latecomers are only admitted at the break, around 9pm. Directions to The Women’s Building
Public Transit BART: The Women’s Building is close to 16th street BART. Special note: one side-effect of gentrification in the Mission is that there are a lot of people on the streets between The Women’s Building and the BART station - all nice safe people going to one of the many new local restaurants. You’ll probably feel safe walking the few blocks from 16th Mission BART and The Women’s Building.
Muni The 22 Fillmore runs down 16th Street. Get off at 16th & Valencia and walk two blocks to The Women’s Building. The 14 Mission runs along Mission Street. Get off at 17th or 18th and walk 1-1/2 blocks to TWB.
Driving Directions Driving from Marin County - Take the Golden Gate Bridge (101 South) to Lombard Street. Turn right on Gough (if you get to Van Ness, you went 2 blocks too far). Take Gough all the way to Market Street. Stay in the center lane. Turn right onto Market, then a quick left onto Valencia. Go to 18th Street and look for parking, or continue to 21st for the parking garage. (For fewer hills but more stop lights: from Lombard Street, turn right onto Van Ness instead of Gough, and follow the directions above.)
Parking Garage Street parking is difficult in this neighborhood. There is an inexpensive locked parking garage available on 21st St. between Valencia and Mission and 16th and on Hoff St between Mission and Valencia.
