Dear Sonoma County Love Warriors ~
Chari Davidson, CA Sonoma County Chapter Leader, a woman who was passionate about marriage equality, human rights, food, family, and friends, died suddenly on October 18, 2009. She was 54. Chari and her wife had just returned from the National March in Washington Dc. Chari had been ill with bronchitis and passed away due to complications from pneumonia.
Chari was a true believer in equal marriage rights for all. In 2004, Chari and her partner, Wendy Jordan Eberly, became one of! the almost 4,000 same-sex couples to be married in San Francisco. They later married again, legally this time, in October 2008, just prior to the No on Prop 8 election loss. She worked tirelessly with Equality CA on this marriage issue. Chari served as Sonoma County Chapter Leader of Marriage Equality USA. Her spirit, compassion, and leadership were well known throughout the community. She was also active in the local Democratic Party and the Progressive Democrats of Sonoma County.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Charis life on October 31st at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Santa Rosa at 547 Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa. Volunteers and food donations to help with Charis service are being coordinated through Donatella DeCaro at Chari’s old cell phone 707-332-9537.
The family requests that me! morials be made to Marriage Equality USA or to St. Vincent DePaul Dining Room at PO Box 1095, Rohnert Park CA 94927. To donate to MEUSA in Charis honor and memory, please click here: https://npo.networkforgood.org/Donate/Donate.aspx?npoSubscriptionId=1001435 &code=Chari_Memorial
We hope to share the celebration of Chari’s life with many of you.
