Third Annual Lesbian Summer Camp Pinnacles National Monument April 30, 2010 to May 2, 2010 Hollister, California
Join us for the Third Annual Lesbian Summer Camp at Pinnacles National Monument. A fun weekend of woman, camping, hiking, playing in the swimming pool, and music by the campfire.
Pinnacles National Monument consists of the spectacular remains of an ancient volcano that rises out of the chaparral-covered Gabilan Mountains. Massive monoliths, spires, sheer-walled canyons and talus passages define millions of years of erosion, faulting and tectonic plate movement. Pinnacles is a release site for the endangered California condor. The condors may sometimes be seen from hiking trails throughout the park.
This is tent camping only. The activities include a twelve (12) mile hike and possibly a half century (50 mile) bike ride. If you are not in good physical condition, this may not be the camping trip for you.
Cost: $40.00 per person. Reservations are required. This event has sold out every year.

Hi Friends and Colleagues,
Our debut feature, Hold the Sun , is having its San Francisco premiere as part of the upcoming San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. Filmed over two years while we were students in SFAI’s MFA Film Program, and featuring a cast of over 100 mostly non-professional actors, the film is a quiet, subdued portrait of a group of queer women living in San Francisco.
“In this powerfully alluring debut feature from directors Laura Zaylea David Yun, questions of life and its pretense are brought to the forefront as we watch a quiet taxidermist, a forlorn artist and an isolated travel writer live out a question that haunts us all: is loneliness inherent to human condition? Set in the urban sprawl of San Francisco and featuring an all-female cast, HOLD THE SUN hypnotically meditates on the ordinary paradox of feeling alone in a saturated city, and poignantly explores meanings of community, desire and solitude within queer lives. With a stunningly subdued palate, an experimental mix of magic and realism, and a bold exploration of performance, HOLD THE SUN successfully ruptures our expectations of bustling urban life by luxuriating in the ubiquitous silence
