Three free chances to try GLBT square dancing!

Join the fun! The El Camino Reelers (the GLBT and friends square dance club of the Silicon Valley area) will be starting a new beginner class on Wednesday, August 20th. The class meets each Wednesday night from 7:30 - 9:30 pm in Palo Alto.
You can try out “GLBT and friends” square dancing for free at any the following three intro classes:
Saturday, August 2 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Wednesday, August 6 7:30 - 9:30 pm
Wednesday, August 13 7:30 - 9:30 pm

This FREE support group offers participants the chance to express their feelings and learn coping techniques from one another. By attending, family members, caregivers, and friends:

* Know that relevant help is available, accessible and nearby
* Can gather to share practical information
* Can problem-solve and support each other
* Learn new ways of coping with dementia
* Share ideas and experiences of being a long-distance caregiver
* Deal with the present and prepare for the future

Marin Headlands Hike on July 20th; Sierra Buttes Camping Trip August 8th-10th

MARIN HEADLANDS HIKE SUNDAY, JULY 20TH
Join SAGA, SF Hiking and GLS _[Gay Lesbian Sierrans]_ for a scenic coastal hike in the Marin headlands, taken at a leisurely to moderate pace. Start at the Rodeo Lagoon and hike the Coastal-Wolf Ridge-Miwok trails. We’ll have a lunch stop at Hill 88 with its spectacular panoramic views. This is a moderate 5.5 mile loop with several hundred feet of elevation gain. This trail provides a little of everything the Golden Gate National Seashore has to offer: sweeping grand views of the Pacific, views of the City & Golden Gate Bridge, access to WWII coastal batteries, walking along a scenic lagoon and access to the Pacific Ocean/beach.
We will meet at the Safeway parking lot (under the big Safeway sign) at Market-Dolores in SF at 9:00 a.m. to carpool. _[We'll depart at 9:15 a.m. sharp.]_ Bring your own water, lunch, and a light snack.

GET READY TO ROUGH IT! WELL… SORT OF. IN MID-AUGUST SAGA NORTH IS GOING INTO THE COOLER SIERRAS TO HIKE, CAMP, AND STAR GAZE.
ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 8TH, WE WILL START IN A DONNER LAKE CABIN. THERE WE’LL HAVE A BBQ AND SOCIAL. ON SATURDAY, WE’LL DRIVE TO THE CAMP SITE AT UPPER TAMARACK LAKE AND HIKE TO SIERRA BUTTES (ABOUT 7 MILES ROUND TRIP). THIS IS A SPECTACULAR AREA WITH SWIMMING HOLES AND GORGEOUS NATURAL SCENERY
WE WILL SPEND SATURDAY NIGHT UNDER THE STARS THEN TAKE OFF LEISURELY ON SUNDAY. THE TRIP LEADER HAS BEEN VISITING THIS AREA FOR YEARS AND IS POSITIVE YOU WILL LOVE IT TOO.

Want a day outside, with some sun shining down on your face, grass under your feet, and some excellent barbecue? Then come join old friends and new for a relaxing, fun-filled day in the park.
The Billy DeFrank Social Committee is proud to host our 6th annual “OUT in the Park” held at Vasona Park in Los Gatos on Sunday, August 3rd from noon to 4pm. We proudly invite all members, families, friends, allies, and our well-behaved four-legged friends on a leash of the LGBT Community to this great event!
Partake in a day filled with yummy traditional barbecue food, including hamburgers, hotdogs, and Roasted BBQ Chicken provided by our favorite Chicken & Ribs Express. (A veggie option will also be available.)
Work off your food by participating in our social activities and games for all ages. Paddle boats and row boats are also available for rent on the lake. If you’re really adventurous you can practice those casting skills fishing for Black Bass and Catfish along the shore.
Purchase raffle tickets at the event for an opportunity to win some very cool prizes! (to be announced at the event)
If you would like to have and/or share a “cold one”, alcohol is allowed in the park and is not included in the barbecue. If you choose to bring a frosty beverage please drink responsibly…
The majority of the Park’s facilities meet those standards established by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
