Dear friends,
This Friday night, November 7th, is Soul Support’s field trip to kirtan at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment (CSE). If you would like attend, please RSVP.
Kirtan, which means “to praise what is exalted,” is meant to foster divine communion. CSE’s Gitanjali band will lead us in “call and response” format of chant/song. The Sanskrit words are projected on an over head screen for the audience. However, its quite alright if you prefer to listen, rather than participate. The event runs from 7 - 9pm. Some of us will meet beforehand and carpool since the location is very near the DeFrank Center
I don’t have any sound clips from CSE, but I have some friends in Santa Cruz who also do kirtan every month at Gateway books. Their band is called the Mystic Jamms. I do have a little sound clip from one of their kirtan recordings.
