Pacific Center is Hiring Youth Services Program Coordinator
Position Description: Youth Services Program Coordinator The Youth Services Program Coordinator facilitates Pacific Center’s youth leadership program that explores LGBT and questioning identity, family dynamics, cultural heritage, connections with community, healthy life choices, peer pressure, social and physical challenges for LGBTQ youth.
Primary Responsibilities: . Coordinate outreach efforts to secure program participants . Design and deliver program, including groups, social activities, leadership training . Coordinate access to formal therapy services with assigned clinical staff and interns .. Participate in the design and implementation of effective marketing and publicity strategies . Maintain a safe, respectful, and youth development- based learning environment . Recruit, train and supervise volunteers, student interns and youth speakers who support the youth program and activities . Arrange and coordinate anti-homophobia trainings and workshops in schools and other organizations . Coordinate occasional evening/weekend events for youth participants . Track and maintain accurate participant records, statistics and reports on a monthly basis . Work as a team member with other employees and volunteers at Pacific Center . Assume other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications: . Experience working with middle school and high school age youth in a non-profit setting . Deep understanding and knowledge of LGBTQ youth issues . Experience working with diverse communities . Experience with program design, implementation and evaluation . College degree in related field . Ability to work collaboratively with other agencies and schools . Ability to implement tasks and activities independently . Ability to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in youth . Strong ethical values and commitment to confidentiality and setting appropriate boundaries . Ability to manage groups of youth in a safe, respectful environment . Open to learning and growing as a youth worker . Basic computer skills: Word, Excel etc
Commitment: This is a 80% benefitted, 32 hour a week position. The Program Coordinator will need to have some flexibility in his/her schedule and be available for after-school programming. S/he must also be available some evening and weekends for occasional special events.
